Explorer Park & Adjacent Areas: Management Responsibilities
To help clarify maintenance and management responsibilities within The Lakes, the areas highlighted in red on the map—including Explorer Park, the dog park, drainage areas, and the Mirror Lake Drive entry area — are directly managed and maintained by the Metro District.
Other common areas within The Lakes are managed by The Lakes Master HOA, with partial funding support from the Metro District.
Areas Managed by the Metro District
The Metro District is responsible for the following services within Explorer Park and the highlighted areas:
- Landscaping and grounds maintenance
- Dog park maintenance
- Fence and gate maintenance
- Gazebo area maintenance
- Irrigation system management and maintenance
- Trash and trash receptacle maintenance
- Playground area maintenance

The Lakes Master HOA manages the following services within Explorer Park:
- Dog waste station servicing
- Snow removal on common and park-area sidewalks
